How Do I Do It?


It’s easy. Just follow these steps, and you’re on your way to experiencing the many benefits of Meditation and Quieting Prayer.

• Schedule 45 minutes (or 25 minutes) each day for your practice. Early morning is an ideal time.

• Choose a quiet place where you won’t be interrupted or distracted.

• Sit comfortably in a position that is effortless yet alert, either on the floor or in a chair.

• Relax your body and focus on your breath. Take full, deep breaths. When you feel more calm, begin your meditation or prayer. (Choose your method – Meditation Techniques, Quieting Prayer)

• Your goal is simply to listen or to watch your thoughts without effort.

• At the end of your session, open your eyes and sit quietly for several minutes before getting up.

Shorter Sessions

You can also join by practicing for 25 minutes daily – you will be counted as half of the one percent needed. The 45 or 25 minute sessions can consist of two or more shorter sessions of no less than 10 minutes each.
